Big Bat
The bat's reach doubles for the whole at-bat. The bat catches fire to prove it.

One-touch baseball from the HoopFlick series. Five sluggers, three innings, and an umpire who stretches every strike. Hold and slide to aim the bat, let go to swing. Then take the mound and make them miss.

a pocket version of Slug Flick's at-bat, with Archer at the plate. the game adds the whole lineup, runners and the diamond, pitching, power-ups and the bullpen.
Press anywhere and the pitcher goes into his wind-up. Let go before he throws and you step back out; the umpire calls time.
Its height on the screen is the bat's height at the plate, shown by an orange ring. Slide to follow the break: a curve starts high and drops late.
The bat gets there a split second later. Timing and height decide it. A PERFECT is hit hard in the air. A little off is a foul, way off is a whiff. Just nick it and it's a foul tip, which keeps you alive with two strikes.
Hold through the pitch and you take it. Balls, strikes, walks and full counts, called by an umpire who stretches every steeeee-rike.
Every other half-inning, you pitch. Tap a height where you want it to cross the plate, then pick a pitch. Your pitcher's stats do the rest: pace, how close to your target it lands, how much it breaks, and now and then a hanger.
CPU batters watch the ball and commit before it's there, like a person. A curve that still looks high fools them. A changeup after fastballs has them way out in front.
Every pitch they've seen from your pitcher today helps them pick it up next time. Same batters, more to go on. Mix it up.
Each pitcher has a best pitch, a little nastier than the rest, marked SIG on its button.
Tired, or figured out? Bring in a fresh arm. The one you take out sits for the rest of the game, and the hitters have never seen the new one.
Every player has a meter that fills with everything they do: stepping up, every pitch, hits, runners moving, strikes and outs. Full, tap POWER before the pitch to use it. The CPU's players have meters too, and they will.
The bat's reach doubles for the whole at-bat. The bat catches fire to prove it.
His strike zone shrinks to half for one pitch, and so does he. Good luck finding it.
Swing through strike three and it's fouled off instead. Fires by itself when it's needed.
Her next hit goes a base further. A triple becomes an inside-the-park home run.
Anything he hits in the air leaves the park, all at-bat. A grounder's still a grounder.
His signature, right on the dot. Twice as fast, twice the break, or a changeup dressed as a fastball.
A powered-up player shows it: a pitcher with his ace pitch ready burns, Big Bat's bat is on fire, Moonshot glows gold, and the automatic ones glow faintly while they're ready. When the other pitcher starts burning, get ready for heat.
You pitch the top of each inning and bat the bottom. Lead after the top of the 3rd and you don't need to bat. Take the lead in the bottom and it's a walk-off. Tied after three? Extra innings until somebody leads.
The field from above sits top right: where every ball went, where the fielders ran, and who's on base.
Grounders with runners on can be double plays, a deep fly brings the runner home from third, and once in a while there's a triple play.
Runs win the game. Points are the high score: hits, runs, a streak multiplier for reaching base again and again, outs and strikeouts from the mound.

The face of Slug Flick: blue and orange, wild hair, gap-toothed grin. Good at everything, great at nothing, and always up first.
ON THE MOUND · 3/3/3 · SIG SINKER

A short, scrappy leadoff hitter in a deep crouch. The smallest strike zone in the game, so pitchers have to come to him. Walks a lot.

A fastpitch softball star in a cage helmet. She reads the pitch: its name and path show as it leaves the hand. Pitches underhand, windmill style.
ON THE MOUND · 3/1/5 · SIG RISER

A huge bearded slugger in a backwards cap, number 44. Swings big, misses big, and when he gets one it's gone.
ON THE MOUND · 5/1/3 · SIG FASTBALL
On the mound: velocity / control / movement, out of 5.
