What is ROLL?

ROLL looks and works like a genuine dice, coin, and wheel randomizer app — roll a D6 or D20, flip a coin, spin a wheel, ask the Magic 8-Ball. That's not a cover story layered on top of a vault; it's a real, useful randomizer in its own right.

Behind it, a specific sequence of taps on the wheel unlocks an encrypted vault — with no visible sign, anywhere in the app, that a vault exists at all until the correct code is entered. Photos and videos, sure, but also documents, PDFs, archives — any file type, kept exactly as private.

Features

🎲

A real disguise

Five genuine randomizer modes (D6, D20, Coin, Wheel, Magic 8-Ball). The wheel doubles as a covert PIN pad — tap wedges to enter your code, tap the center to actually spin.

🕵️

A full decoy vault

A second, completely independent vault with its own code and its own encryption key. Give up the decoy code under pressure and your real content stays hidden.

🔒

Real encryption

AES-256-GCM, chunked and hardware-accelerated so even multi-gigabyte videos import, export, and play back without stalling — not obscurity, actual encryption at rest.

💾

Local backup & restore

Export your vault to a single password-encrypted file whenever you like. No cloud sync built in, no account required — restoring just needs the file and the password you set.

☁️

Take it anywhere, your way

A backup is just a file. Put it in your own Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox, email it to yourself — wherever you already trust. ROLL doesn't sync to any cloud itself, but nothing stops you from doing it on your own terms.

🖥️

PC / Mac import

Drag and drop files in from your computer over your own local Wi-Fi — no cable, no third-party app, nothing that touches the internet.

🧹

Duplicate finder

A manually-triggered scan finds exact and likely-duplicate photos so you can clean up safely. Included at no extra cost — other vault apps often charge separately for exactly this.

🛡️

Screenshot & relock protection

The vault hides itself the instant the app leaves the foreground and forces re-entry of your code on return — screenshots of vault content are blocked outright.

💰

One price, forever

$4.99, once. No subscriptions, no ads, ever. Other vault apps charge monthly, charge even more upfront, or lock essentials like duplicate detection behind expensive add-ons.

No recovery, on purpose

There is no recovery seed or one-time key. The real vault supports an optional hint, and the decoy vault's code can be reset from inside the real vault's settings — but that's it. A recovery mechanism would itself be a weak point for an app whose entire premise is that nothing about it should ever give the vault away. Forgetting your code means losing access to that vault's contents — with one exception. A backup you've already made still opens fine, because it's protected by its own separate password, not your vault code. Back it up regularly; it's just as encrypted as the vault itself.
